SIMON HOUSE R.I.P. (1948 – 2025)

Sad to hear the news that Simon House has passed. Classically trained, his violin work helped to define the sound of the legendary High Tide group, a great foil to Tony Hill’s guitar. In 1974 he replaced Del Dettmar in Hawkwind and played on many classic Hawkwind albums including “Warrior on the Edge of Time”, now half a century old, on which he shone playing mellotron and synth as well as violin. In 1978 he left to join David Bowie’s touring band and thereafter worked as a session man for groups such as Japan.
