There are many recommended 2023 releases from this well established and well run website. I’ve picked out a few tempting ones: AYREON – 01011001 3 x LP blue vinyl at a reasonable price – released in June (to be reviewed on this site); also in June BIG BIG TRAIN – INGENIOUS DEVICES 2LP / CD; there are still some limited signed copies of COMEDY OF ERRORS – THRENODY FOR A DEAD QUEEN at no extra cost (see review on this site); the mighty ELOY with their (would you believe it 20th album?) – ECHOES FROM THE PAST; the very collectible FISH with WISCONSIN 1997 a 2xCD live FM broadcast .
THE FLOWER KINGS’ THE SUM OF NO EVIL is back again; GENESIS – SAO PAULO 2 x CD live FM radio 21/5/77 promoting the rather fine “Wind and Wuthering” album; STEVE HACKETT has both DARKTOWN and GUITAR NOIR double LPs at reasonable prices; the prolific HAWKWIND with THE FUTURE NEVER WAITS came out in April following their 2021 album “Somnia”. Speaking of Hawkwind, it’s not only the 50th anniversary of “Space Ritual”, but also of the album that put Richard Branson’s Virgin label into orbit– I speak of course of MIKE OLDFIELD’s TUBULAR BELLS. The wonderful PINEAPPLE THIEF has a 7 cd/ Blu Ray 1999-2006 on K Scope; it’s a one-time pressing and seems a good investment – am sorely tempted by this.
MARILLION’s marvellous SEASON’S END album is back in a deluxe 3 CD + Blu Ray + hardback book format. PINK FLOYD’s LIVE GERMANY 15/11/72 is also out on 2 CD at a good price; also at a good price is the brilliant TRANSATLANTIC with “The Final Flight Live at L’Olympia”, a limited 4 LP set featuring material from “The Absolute Universe”.
