Easter time is of course a very important time in the Christian calendar and Knaresborough multi-instrumentalist Tim Hunter has released a song that originally appeared on “Yorkshire Through the Ages” (2017). In 1205 King John instigated Royal Maundy (based on mandatum, Jesus’ instruction to love one another at the Last Supper) and here explores the subject and gives a welcome history lesson in song; skilfully arranged with concise guitar and organ breaks and effective use of synthesised orchestration, the song is also embellished by the vocals of Sarah Marie Gayle.
