Marking their 50th anniversary, there is final confirmation of that eagerly awaited CAMEL retrospective AIR BORN: THE MCA AND DECCA YEARS 1973-1984 in individual vinyls and vinyl bundles and 32 CDs! Singles are there along with live concerts: Marquee ’74, Hammersmith Odeon ’76 and ’77, Radio One concerts and a blu-ray with the 1984 film ‘Pressure Points’. There is also an illustrated book. It’s released on 24th November so Camel devotees will need to fill up the piggy banks to meet the £160 asking price.
I’m also looking forward to a new GONG release “Unending Ascending” to be released on 3rd November on K Scope.
The sadly missed JOHN WETTON’s six solo albums with bonus are to be released on 24th November with the blessing of John’s wife Lisa and son Dylan. It will include a 64-page booklet with an essay by Nick Shilton, John’s biographer.
DISCIPLINE’s classic “Unfolded Like Staircase” is getting a 25th anniversary release on CD and vinyl. I look forward to rediscovering it all over again. Was it really 1997 it first came out?!
Another great album from the 90s, WHITE WILLOW’s “Ignis Fatuus” is also set for a remastered re-release. Details of both on Burning Shed. Likewise, DJAM KARET is due to release a 19th album “A Sky Full of Stars For A Roof” with four original band members still on board.
Reviews of these, and more, are certain to feature on Dimensions-In-Sound-And-Space along with some French and Italian prog bands you may not be familiar with.
