The title is tongue in cheek alluding to the ‘urban myth’ that Jazz Sabbath’s first album in 2020 was by a lost jazz group who were subsequently ripped off by a certain group from Birmingham! Adam Wakeman, Jerry Neehan and Ash Soan return with seven Black Sabbath headbangers such as ‘Electric Funeral’, ‘The Wizard’ and ‘War Pigs’ in an acoustic trio format. Of course, Tony Iommi was into jazz at first, inspired by the likes of Django Reinhardt but lost the tips of his right hand middle and ring fingers in a work accident which forced him to change his playing style, and viewed in this way the idea of a ‘Jazz Sabbath’ seems entirely appropriate!
