Gabriele Inglese and Paolo Nannetti released their first album together in2023, “Working to Distract Myself”. “The Art of Making Do.” is their latest opus, thirteen songs, “some refined from youthful ideas and others brand new”, created in long-distance audio files between Pistoia and Bologna. The musical references are explicit: Italian, French, North American and Latin singer-songwriter music; folk tradition (Italian and Irish especially) with “some progressive reminiscences”.

Both the main protagonists are multi-instrumentalists with guitar, keyboards, accordion, clarinet, flute, bass, organ supplemented by guest musicians on guitar, bass, violincello, trumpet, sax and percussion. L’arte di arrangiari is literally a life philosophy based on creativity and action and this beguiling album fulfils all that is promised.
