A surprise reunion in 2000 after Greenslade had disbanded in 1976 yielded “Large Afternoon” with original members Dave Greenslade (keyboards) and Tony Reeves (bass) teaming up with John Young (keyboards, vocals) and Chris Cozens (drums).

Opening instrumental ‘Cakewalk’ is typical of their successful early period albums, Greenslade’s and Reeves’ distinctive keyboard and bass styles instantly recognisable. Unfortunately, the rest of the album doesn’t really deliver the promise of the opener although one must remember that this is 2000 and not the mid- 1970s! Having said that, the title track is a light hearted atmospheric instrumental and the synth break does harken back to the halcyon days of the first two albums and the near 7-minute ‘On Suite’ (also on the live 2001 CD) will appeal to fans of ELP. In 2001 the band performed at the Classic Rock Society in Rotherham, England and the recording of this concert was later released as ‘The Full Edition – Live 2001’. This remastered edition of ‘Large Afternoon’ has been expanded to a 2-disc set to include the concert and includes a booklet with an essay featuring an exclusive interview with Dave Greenslade. For the record the live album has songs like ‘Feathered Friends’, ‘Catalan’, ‘Sundance’, ‘Bedside Manners are Extra’ and ‘Joie de Vivre’ as a reminder of what an excellent prog band Greenslade was.
