Didn’t the Shulman brothers from Simon Dupree and the Big Sound do well to develop the early promise into a prog rock phenomenon, unique and much imitated (the sincerest form of flattery), complex and intricate yet accessible? The significance and strength of this 2 x CD release is that it restores the live concerts taken from four European venues, taking advantage of the CD medium to reveal an expanded version, restoring tracks cut from the 2 x LP version. Coincidentally it was originally released in the same year as Genesis’ seminal live double album “Seconds Out”. Both are essential.
