DAVID JACKSON & RENÉ VAN COMMENÉE – KEEP YOUR LANE (2023) (Talking Elephant)

Some jazz, electronica and a little bit of funk add to ex VAN DER GRAAF GENERATOR’s saxophonist/ flautist David Jackson progressive heritage in an album with old friend and multi-instrumentalist, best known as a percussionist, René Van Commenée. The duo are aided by guests like Colin Edwin on bass, John Ellis on guitar on various original compositions and some intriguing covers of MOONDOG’s ‘Bird’s Lament’, ‘Felona’ from PETER HAMMILL’s collaboration with Le Orme and a lengthy update of Van Der Graaf Generator’s ‘Pioneers Over C’.
