Colosseum’s sophomore album “Valentyne Suite” has always been essential to me and I was intrigued to hear of a fourth album (projected to follow “Daughter of Time”) that never was, including material that would be used by DICK HECKSTALL-SMITH on his rather good 1972 album “A Story Ended” album (‘Pirate’s Dream’) and the title track which JON HISEMAN took with him to the redoubtable TEMPEST.
However, a double CD at an entry price point of around £15 is a bit of a stretch considering it consists of some live sets from 1969/70, including a short version of ‘Valentyne Suite’ itself and some demos. There is a 32-page booklet though.
