CENSUS OF HALLUCINATIONS- CENSUS OF HALLUCINATIONS (Falling A Records) (2024 reissue)

The world of Stone Premonitions first came to my attention when I was sent the first Census of Hallucinations CD to review and I am delighted to see that a remastered version has been released on Falling A. Tracks like 'Integration' and its use of delayed echo guitar effects took me back to marvellous albums like 'Fish Rising' by Steve Hillage, and I know through various interviews and discussions with Tim Jones over the years that Gong is a big influence on their music. Environmental concerns are aptly expressed on 'Gaia Hypothesis' while 'The Big Pink Sandwich' is wonderfully psychedelic as its title suggests There are also two very good songs in 'Orion' and 'The Moon' which I was honoured to compile versions of by different artists for a CD entitled “The Moon/Orion project”.. The latter contains the message of what a lot of the music is about, the idea of seeking and finding the answers to save mankind. Familiar touchpoints are a splendid version of The Beatles 'Dear Prudence' and a cover of 'The Devil's Answer' by Atomic Rooster, astute choices!
