I can’t rightly recall when Stone Premonitions first released the fifth C of H but remember reviewing it for the Zeitgeist website. I also remember a four CD set of C of H’s finest works entitled “Apparitions” way back when. Three of the songs from that compilation are on this newly remastered version of the album: ‘General Erection’, a pop at politicians (You would never tell!) uses a jazz funk approach that Frank Zappa would surely approve of. ‘Gardez loo’ (shouted before rubbish and excrement were thrown out of windows in pre sanitation days) introduces the delicious folk rock of ‘Ignorance Insane’, a splendid song boasts a chorus that reminded me of Tom Petty for some unfathomable reason. ‘Love is the Answer’ with its fluid guitar is another highlight. There is more quirky, psychedelic and endearing music to be heard that may be just right up your street if you’re looking for something a bit different.
