It sounds too good to be true- German retailers including Leidenshaft für Musik will be releasing a 27 CD + 5 Blu-Ray set to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Camel’s first album for $112 delivered (will need to check if that includes UK though!). I still remember taking a punt on this when it came out and being utterly enthralled by classics like ‘Never Let Go’. They rapidly became one of my go-to bands and the only one I have seen two weekends in a row at the Winning Post, Twickenham and The Greyhound, Croydon. I remember sitting on the floor at one of the venues!
I have all of these studio recordings anyway, but might be tempted by the prospect by the demos, radio and live tracks on offer and the Blu-Rays. I will keep you posted if I learn anything more. The only thing I can say just now is the projected release date is 27th October and a similar price is being offered by US retailers – nothing from UK sellers yet.
